Friend,

In my career as a civil rights advocate, a city Councilmember, and the Mayor of West Hollywood, I've seen our district from all sides. I've seen the challenges people face every day, as well as the relationships that help our community flourish.

I've met single parents working two jobs to make ends meet. I've met young people organizing for a more sustainable and affordable future. I've met people living everyday as their open and authentic selves, in spite of hate and discrimination. I've met immigrants proudly contributing their culture and heritage to our American melting pot — just like my family did.

Stories like these are what our community and beautiful nation are made of. And making sure every single one of us has equitable access to the American dream is exactly what I am fighting for. I am fighting for all of us, not just some of us.

For immigrants, for the LGBTQ+ community, for the working class, for women, for young people, for mother earth, for people of color. For a better future for my family and for yours.
