Bad News: Thanks to the Republican-controlled state legislature, we still don’t have a fair, representative map in Alabama.

Good News: A federal court struck down the state’s redistricting plan and appointed a special master to redraw our congressional map and create TWO majority-black districts!

Never did I think that 58 years after we fought to pass the Voting Rights Act of 1965 , we would find ourselves mired in the same battle for the sacred right of all Americans to vote.
