John, in honor of International Day of Charity, we set a goal to raise $50,000 to support children like Tamara* facing unimaginable hardships across the globe. But we can’t reach it without you.
13-year-old Tamara lives in a rural village outside of Taiz, Yemen. For nearly a decade, she and the children of Yemen have lived through a horrific civil war. Earlier this year, Tamara became a victim of this senseless violence when a landmine exploded outside her home, seriously injuring her.
Tamara is facing a long recovery after multiple surgeries where doctors amputated her leg, performed a skin transplant and removed shrapnel from her hand. But she’s still hopeful for the future – she looks forward to going back to school and plans to become a lawyer so she can fight for justice.
Thanks to dedicated supporters like you, our child protection team has been there for Tamara throughout this crisis. We responded on the day of the explosion, covered her medical expenses and are working with her family to ensure Tamara is able to continue learning.
