Listen, I’m no stranger to being counted out.

I was a young mom pursuing a degree when I started working in public service, and before then, not many people in the most important rooms looked like me or had a similar story to mine.

Some may say that Delaware is a “safe seat.” But we all know there’s no such thing as a “safe seat” for Democrats.

And what seems to be lost on some is the historic nature of our campaign.

No woman was ever elected to Congress from Delaware – but we did that.

And no person of color was ever elected to Congress from Delaware – but we did that.
