Dove hunting season is here
The 2023 Nebraska dove season has begun! The season opened Sept. 1 and runs through Oct. 30, with aggregate daily bag and possession limits of 15 and 45, respectively.?
Sunflowers, millet and wheat, which generally provide good food sources and dove hunting opportunities, were planted on numerous wildlife management areas earlier this year. For a listing of these "dove fields," see the Dove Hunting Fact Sheet. Happy hunting!

Changes in place for fall turkey season
Hunters will see significant changes in Nebraska's 2023 fall turkey season. One change is that all turkey harvests must be reported via Telecheck. Also, each hunter may only have one fall permit, and the bag limit allows the take of one turkey of either sex with a shotgun or archery equipment. The fall turkey season is Oct. 1-Nov. 30. 2023-2024 Public Access Atlas now available
Looking for a place to hunt? Check out the recently published 2023-2024 Public Access Atlas, which displays more than a million acres of publicly accessible lands throughout Nebraska. The atlas is updated annually and printed copies are available at Nebraska Game and Parks offices. You can also read it online.

Attention, landowners ? if you're interested in the Special Landowner Deer Season, you must access your customer profile and update your land information on the new permit system, which went live in 2023.

Now is a great time to sign up for hunter education, if you haven't already. Classes are held year-round, but most take place in late summer and early fall. Both online and traditional classroom options are available.
