Victory! Oregon organizing team shuts down the Easterday mega-dairy
After years of organizing and legal pressure, the Easterday Big Ag empire has officially abandoned its attempt to open the controversial Easterday Farms mega-dairy in Eastern Oregon! This is a major win for Oregon’s communities, water, and climate. Read more about this incredible win!
Our New York organizing team took to the streets of Queens and Manhattan in August with a simple ask: sign a petition to support the New York HEAT Act and enjoy a free (dairy or non-dairy) ice cream while you do! Eight legislators joined us on our circuit to talk with constituents about the HEAT Act, which will support an affordable transition off fossil fuels for New York’s remaining gas companies and lower energy bills.
New York Governor Hochul signs “Save the Hudson” bill!
Holtec International, the company in charge of decommissioning the Indian Point Nuclear Power Station near Peekskill, New York, was planning to dump radioactive waste into the Hudson River. Our New York organizers led the charge to mobilize 35 Hudson River localities, 138 ally groups, and nearly 500,000 people to stop this. We successfully urged the New York State Senate and Assembly to draft and (unanimously) pass the "Save the Hudson" bill in June. Our continued efforts led to Governor Kathy Hochul signing the bill into law and protecting this iconic waterway.
Join us virtually (October 11) or in New York City (October 12) for Food & Water Watch’s annual benefit. We'll be joined by legendary actor and activist Jane Fonda along with youth leaders Elise Joshi and Vic Barrett, climate anxiety expert Sarah Jaquette Ray, and others.
During the event, we’ll also explore strategies for empowering each other as activists and growing our movement for sustainable food, clean water, and a livable climate! Against All Odds is a call to action and celebration of our community. Because of you, our grassroots movement has the power to win — no matter the odds.

Support the Food Labeling Modernization Act!
Labels like “natural,” “organic,” and “local” appear on lots of different food products, but how do we know if these labels are telling the full story? The Food Labeling Modernization Act (S.1289) would make it easier for consumers to determine the right food choices at the grocery store by bringing transparency and simplicity to our nation’s food labeling requirements.
