Announcing the 2023 Local Legislator Awardee...Councilmember Amelia Parker! 
The National Homelessness Law Center is proud to award Councilmember Amelia Parker of Knoxville, TN with this year’s Local Legislator Award! This non-partisan award recognizes the important work being done at the local level to advance policy solutions to end homelessness. Amelia Parker has been representing the people of Knoxville since December of 2019 and, in her service, has been a leader in promoting solutions to homelessness that are informed by her unhoused constituents.

The Law Center wants to make sure our entire community is able to join in the celebrations! We have a limited number of tickets in our ticket bank to provide free admission to join us at this year’s Human Right to Housing Awards. Tickets from the ticket bank will be granted on a first come first served basis and will prioritize applicants with lived experience of homelessness. A ticket from the ticket bank will only cover the cost of entering the event, not the cost of travel to and from the event. Register for the Justice for Youth Summit! 
The American Bar Association Commission on Homelessness and Poverty, in partnership with the National Homelessness Law Center, will be hosting the Justice for Youth Summit on Wednesday October 11th from 2pm-5pm EST 
 
This free event will be held at the Microsoft Innovation & Policy Center at 901 K St. NW, Washington, DC 20001 and will feature the release and expert discussions of the 2023 ABA publication “Youth and Young Adult Homelessness: Model State Statutes.” Register for the event here and on our website!
