Texas is a special place for many reasons. Yes, we love our legendary dancehalls like Floores Country Store, Gruene Hall and the Broken Spoken. We love our Tex-Mex and barbecue, Texas country music, and the occasional Shiner.
But Texas is so much more than that... each state has something that makes it unique, but every year on March 2nd, Texas celebrates an occasion that truly stands out.
187 years ago -- on March 2, 1836 -- freedom lovers declared independence from Mexico and the Republic of Texas was born.
Now every year we celebrate thespirit of Texas that carries on to this day. Texas is rooted in individual liberty, the willingness to take risks, and achieve the American Dream. It's really the best of what America should be.
I ran for Congress, despite the sacrifice and hardship for my family, because I want to save the Texas and America that we love. I want to stop the massive growth of government stifling our lives and the woke nonsense infecting our culture. Let Texas be Texas and let people live their lives.
Members of the Come And Take It Club will be invited to join me for exclusive conference calls, receive special swag, and get other insider perks. But most importantly, you'll be helping us defend liberty.
Texans have always stood on the frontlines of protecting our freedoms, and I have been right there with you as your voice in DC.
Texas Independence Day honors the sacrifice of those who fought to give us freedom and for the leaders willing to stand up to defend not just our home, but something much greater.
We're still fighting every day for our God-given right to live free.
