Friend,
Over the weekend, 31 people were murdered and dozens more were injured in a domestic terrorist attack in El Paso, Texas, and a massacre in Dayton, Ohio. The hopelessness and sadness that weekends like this cause are uniquely American, and I know you would give anything to be able to stop this from ever happening again. And I know you know the all-encompassing rage at reading the stories not just of these shootings, but of the lives the victims led before they were senselessly cut short, knowing we could have prevented this from happening if only Congressional Republicans had a backbone.
House Democrats have been passing legislation to prevent mass shootings from happening. But Mitch McConnell decided that the NRA is worth more than our families, our communities, and our safety and has refused to let the Senate vote on common-sense, bipartisan gun control.?I'm calling him out -- and demanding he call a vote on gun control legislation immediately. DEMAND McCONNELL CALL A VOTE <[link removed]>
It's been five months since the House passed life-saving gun safety measures. In those five months, we have seen tragedy after tragedy while McConnell and the Republicans continue to do nothing but offer thoughts and prayers. Enough is enough. We need to take action to prevent this senseless loss of life.
Sign here to let Mitch McConnell know that we aren't going to wait for the next tragedy to come along. He needs to call back the Senate and hold a vote immediately. <[link removed]>
Best,
Ted
