Last month CNN published a poll saying 55% of people in the United States do not support spending more money on the Ukraine war. The White House responded by requesting another $24 billion, mostly for weapons and military training, to prolong the war and suffering. CODEPINK and the Peace in Ukraine Coalition are committed to raising up the majority opinion that the US needs to stop fueling this war. That’s why we are launching a new petition to hand deliver in DC on Wednesday, October 4,  to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that oversees military spending.

This event is part of the Peace in Ukraine Coalition’s Global Days of Action that will run from Sept. 30 to Oct. 8, coinciding with mass protests in Europe to demand an end to funding the Russia-Ukraine-NATO war.



👉 On Tuesday, October 3, we will host a DC teach-in with professor Dr. Cornel West, CODEPINK Co-founder Medea Benjamin, journalist Eugene Puryear, and comedian/podcaster Lee Camp. You can join us in person in Washington or join us online here!  <[link removed]>



👉 The following day, Wednesday, October 4, we will organize in the halls of Congress to deliver this very petition and advocate for a ceasefire and diplomacy to end the war! If you're in or around DC, join us for advocacy day! <[link removed]>



It’s time Congress represented the needs and wants of the people here at home, who can’t afford to pay the rent or buy life-saving medicine and other basic necessities.  As the total amount of taxpayer dollars spent on this seemingly endless war reaches $140 BILLION, 34 million people in the US are food insecure, two million lack access to clean drinking water, 650,000 can’t pay their medical bills and over a half a million are homeless.
