This week: NAFCU puts finishing touches on Congressional Caucus, Senate returns

Credit union leaders and advocates are preparing to travel to Washington, D.C., next week for NAFCU’s 2023 Congressional Caucus. Throughout the event, happening Sept. 10-13, attendees will hear from an exceptional lineup of speakers and meet with leaders on Capitol Hill. Attendees are also encouraged to complete the Hill Visit Form to schedule meetings with lawmakers to advocate for key credit union issues.

August jobs report shows ‘continued cooling,’ supports pause on rates

New data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed 187,000 jobs were added in August, while gains in July and June were revised down 30,000 and 80,000, respectively. NAFCU Chief Economist and Vice President of Research Curt Long provided insights in a new Macro Data Flash report.

NCUA to host webinar on technology, financial inclusion

The NCUA will host a free webinar Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. Eastern to highlight ways credit unions can use technology to expand access to financial services. NCUA Director of Financial Technology and Access Charles Vice will “discuss opportunities and challenges in adopting technology to promote greater inclusion.”
