Friend, Labor Day might unofficially mark “the end of
summer”, but it certainly doesn’t feel that way in many parts of the country
that are experiencing record-high temperatures and extreme heat warnings.
And in the Arctic, global warming is hitting TWICE as hard with the region warming 2x the rate of the rest of the Earth. This is bad news for vulnerable polar bears
who are left watching their ice habitats melt around them while they cling to
survival.
To make matters even worse for these beloved animals, Big Oil and Gas are
threatening to bring in dirty, toxic pollutants and industrial machinery to the already-fragile Arctic. The drilling and
fracking alone is terrible for the environment, releasing harmful greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere — but the massive equipment also puts innocent polar bears
in danger of being RUN OVER or BURIED ALIVE under snow.
The fossil fuel industry has done enough damage to the planet, and we cannot let
these greedy corporations push endangered polar bears to EXTINCTION . Please, Friend, can you take just a minute out of your
Labor Day to help protect defenseless polar bears and fight back against Arctic
drilling? Add your name now! >>

[[link removed]]With the recent federal ruling that approved new oil and gas drilling in the
Arctic, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) confirmed a 95% probability that the increase in fossil fuel activity will cause “SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH” to the endangered Southern Beaufort polar bears who live there — the most imperiled polar bear population in the entire world!
And the noise and air pollution brought in by Big Oil and Gas don’t just harm
polar bears and wildlife in the Arctic. The expanded drilling activity is an
environmental hazard that impacts the entire landscape, including the sensitive
ecosystem that local residents depend on for survival, predominantly Indigenous
tribes.
Friend, while you might be soaking up the sun and warmth
today, the Arctic region is in peril and at further risk of being destroyed by
fossil fuel greed. As one of our top environmentalists, we’re really hoping that
you care enough about the planet to take action right now by adding your name to
our petition calling on FWS to reject increased drilling and fracking in the
Arctic. We can’t do this without you, Friend. Will you join us
in the fight against Big Oil’s environmental destruction by signing our petition
right away?
