Friends — Happy Labor Day!
Today is a day to celebrate working Americans of all backgrounds and be in solidarity with those who are bravely organizing their workplace, forming unions, walking the picket line, and standing up for the rights, protections, and pay that they deserve.
I’m proud that this year my office became the first Senate office in history to begin unionizing. And I’m proud that throughout my career, I’ve stood up for the rights of working people to organize and have continued to fight for the advancement of working class priorities in Congress.
So, I hope you take the time to recommit yourself to our mission today as we push this progressive movement forward.
But before you click away, I wanted to say a quick thank you as well.
Thanks to the wonderful folks who make up this movement, we were able to meet our August fundraising goals with just hours to spare. These goals are not arbitrary — we set these benchmarks so we know what resources we have on hand to power this movement. And so far this year we’ve been able to rely on supporters like you.
So thank you, really. We’ve continued to prove the size and strength of this progressive campaign, and shown the far-right, the corporate interests, the bosses, and everyone else that we’re ready for the challenges ahead.
In solidarity today and always,
Ed Markey
