Happy Labor Day!
As someone who grew up in a section 8 home and on food stamps, and started
working when I was 15 (my first Union job) I deeply cherish Labor Day and
all the labor rights leaders who continue to fight for economic justice.

Way back when President FDR signed the minimum wage law he emphatically
declared, “No business which depends for existence on paying less than
living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country…by
living wages, I mean more than a bare subsistence level—I mean the wages
of decent living."
I'm running for US Congress to demand that decent living for every person
in the 11th district of Illinois, and nationwide. But we won't get there
with politicians funded by the same corporations who meanwhile pay their
workers sub-living wages. That's why we need your support for our
campaign.

Instead, our campaign is 100% people funded because we want to demonstrate
that we will always remain accountable to the American people. Can I ask
you to contribute $11 today to our campaign for US Congress?

A reminder this Labor Day that workers rights are human rights, and we
need leaders in Congress who will act on that principle. Because justice
can’t wait.
Sincerely,
Qasim
