John,
I want to wish you and your family a happy Labor Day.
Unions have driven so many of our nation’s advancements towards an equitable workforce. The 40 hour workweek, safe working conditions, paid leave, and minimum wages are the legacy of organized labor.
As we celebrate the hard-fought advances won by the working people who’ve come before us, we must also stand in solidarity with workers across the country who are still on the frontlines demanding a fair deal. As corporations and CEOs make record profits, we must hold them accountable to their workers who drive their success. So today, I hope you take a moment to reflect on the workers who continue to fight these battles – from Americans struggling to make liveable wages to our income inequality gap – we still have much work to do.
I wish you a happy and safe Labor Day.
– Brian
