Folks — Happy Labor Day!

The labor movement is stronger today than it has been in decades because workers have come together to amplify their voice to demand the protections and wages they deserve.

From LA to New York, Amazon to UPS, workers are standing up and standing together against corporate billionaires in every industry. For the first time in over sixty years, SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America are on the picket lines together to raise the bar for actors and writers everywhere, putting the labor movement center stage.

I couldn’t be more proud of the workers in Arizona and across the country who are standing up for what’s right and what they deserve. Before I began my time as party chair, I served as the field director for the Communications Workers of America which represents over 700,000 communications and media employees across various backgrounds, sectors, and industries in the country. In that role, I helped empower workers to recognize their worth and influence, not only on the job but in electoral politics as well.

In both Democratic politics and in our labor movement, the key to making lasting, impactful change is how we organize. By organizing every group and mobilizing every community, not only are we bringing diverse voices and experiences to the table, we’ll ensure we can build power with and for workers for the long haul, to turn out in every election to elect champions for working people.

I can assure you, friend, we won’t ever let the calls of Arizona’s workers go unheard.

Thank a union today!

In solidarity,

Yolanda Bejarano
