John,

If you’ve only got 30 seconds to spare, read this:

Do you find it astonishing that as wildfires blaze, oceans rise, and
extreme weather events become the norm, some are still denying climate
change? It gets worse: These climate deniers are not just naysayers;
they're policymakers who are cutting funds from crucial environmental
initiatives. The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which allocates nearly
$370 billion to combat climate change, is facing severe cuts in the Fiscal
2024 House Appropriations bills. Our communities cannot afford to lose
this funding due to denial and cynicism.

[ [link removed] ]Act Now, because if these cuts go through, we are voluntarily stepping
back from our last line of defense against climate change.

Say NO to Cutting Climate Investments

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you’ve got 2 mins to spare, read this:

Governor DeSantis denied Florida $350 million for climate planning; now,
Florida is suffering from the devastation caused by Hurricane Idalia
without the funds to fight or recover. As one Sarasota resident put it,
"Now, 'the band plays on' as the Titanic sinks and the wealthiest and most
powerful don't seem to care." As climate change continues to fuel natural
disasters like Hurricane Idalia, we cannot afford to miss out on the
much-needed funds to address it.

[ [link removed] ]Don’t Let Climate Deniers Deny Us Our Climate Funding

Let's be clear: We're up against more than just the climate crisis; we're
also fighting against ignorance — both real and fabricated — that
threatens to derail our best efforts to combat it. Now, this refusal to
acknowledge that “the sky is actually falling” is threatening to scuttle
much-needed climate funds for the entire country.

At least four of the Fiscal 2024 House Appropriations bills propose
repealing funding from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). These cuts
target critical programs and initiatives aimed at addressing climate
change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and responding to environmental
and public health emergencies.

The repercussions of such a decision will worsen the condition of our
planet, affecting all — but disproportionately affecting our most
vulnerable populations. This is a consequence we cannot afford to ignore.

[ [link removed] ]Defend the Inflation Reduction Act

Don't let the voices of denial and ignorance dictate policy. Let's rally
against the assault on critical climate funding — our planet and future
generations are counting on us to take a stand now!

In solidarity,
—Dream.Org
