Happy Labor Day, John!

Labor Day is not just a day of rest and celebration — it's also a time to reflect on the progress made over the years by labor unions in IL-14 and across the U.S.

Decades of activism from the labor movement have been essential to protecting workers' rights, achieving fair wages and ensuring safe working conditions.

Today, we celebrate the contributions of hard-working Americans across the country and pay tribute to those who have fought for better labor standards. We also know that there is more work to be done.

We must come together to support legislation like Lauren’s Job Protection Act that would be the biggest expansion of family and medical leave in 30 years, put policies in place to protect workers’ rights across industries, create good-paying jobs and ensure all workers have benefits they’ve rightfully earned.

Let’s keep pushing for the rights and well-being of workers, honoring the legacy of the labor movement that shaped the workplaces we know today.
