Labor Day is a day of recognition for all the workers who built this country. But while the nation is celebrating the day with outdoor festivities and spending time with loved ones, we are sitting here asking the same question:

How many people will die from gun violence today??

Labor Day is one of the deadliest weekends of the year, and it marks the end of the “100 deadliest days of summer,” beginning with Memorial Day. Last year, 18 people were killed by guns and 58 people were injured over Labor Day Weekend. We hope this year won’t be the same, but we’re bracing for the news.

It’s past time for Congress to do their jobs and keep our communities safe. Will you sign our petition demanding universal background checks NOW?

We can’t sit idly by while guns ravage our neighborhoods and communities. We’re sick of the empty promises and “thoughts and prayers” from corrupt, pro-NRA politicians. It’s time for common sense gun safety NOW.
