As Greta went to bat for labor rights talking about her plan to establish a Division of Fair Labor, focusing on issues such as child labor, equal pay, wage theft and discrimination, and family medical leave, Mississippi’s current Attorney General used the opportunity to double down on why she thinks things are just fine the way they are.
After a teen was tragically killed as a result of our atrocious labor conditions, you would think our leaders might show a bit more compassion for the situation at hand. But that’s just not Lynn Fitch’s style.
Instead, Fitch used the opportunity to slam the Biden administration and defend the status quo that’s led to preventable worker deaths. It’s time we send the message loud and clear that Mississippi’s workers aren’t pawns in Lynn Fitch’s political chess game.
Greta’s running to restore our attorney general’s office to the priorities it should have front and center – protecting everyday people and upholding our state laws. But Fitch has big money backers working to keep her in office, so it takes every single one of us fighting back.
