🚴‍♀️ Newcastle to Carlisle cycle superhighway takes a step forward.

Guy regularly meets with the Cycling Minister to make the case for the cycle superhighway.

Last week, I met with some residents from Haydon Bridge to discuss the proposal for a cycle route between Hexham and Haydon Bridge.

I have been working to campaign for a Cycle Superhighway connecting Carlisle and Newcastle. So far, we have secured £9 million for a cycle route between Corbridge and Hexham, but there is more to do.

Guy continues to meet with Barclays and campaign for better services.

As a result, Barclays have launched face-to-face services in Prudhoe and Haltwhistle.

🏦 Every town needs banking facilities, and I am fighting to keep ours.

I regularly meet with Barclays and local banking providers to make the case for retaining in-person services.

As a result, Barclays has launched face-to-face services in Prudhoe and Haltwhistle and a mobile banking unit in Ponteland and Corbridge following closures.

I worked to set up the not-for-profit Northumberland Community Bank and continue to support it so local people don't have to resort to loan sharks and payday lenders.

By working with the County Council, Guy is ensuring the site is not left to rot.

🏫 Developing the Hexham Middle School site.

Last week, I met with Northumberland County Council to push the redevelopment of the Hexham Middle School site. It is essential that the site is not left to rot, and I will continue to push for progress from the County Council.

There is a clear desire for a mixed-use site of social housing, a social care facility, residential housing and preservation of ongoing community gardening facilities. I have insisted there is a proper community engagement event this November when there is a better understanding of what is possible on site.

Until then, the BBC are on site and using the facility, paying rent and creating dozens of local jobs.
