John, I wanted to reach out and wish you and your family a happy Labor Day.

It's been a few years since I've been a union member, but I'm constantly reminded of how much unions have done – not just for me when I was injured on the job – but for all working people.

40 hour work weeks, worker's compensation, OSHA protections – none of that came easily. It took thousands of brave, everyday people who saw injustice in their own lives and took a stand against it.

It breaks my heart that workers' rights are constantly under attack here in Texas. We have some of the fewest union members in the country, and the hardworking folks who keep this state running aren't getting the dignity they deserve.

I won't stop fighting to give all workers a fair shake – and I hope that you in your own way will, too.

To all the workers out there: Thank you for everything you do.

Have a safe and happy Labor Day,

Colin

P.S. You know who's made it clear time and time again that he doesn't care about workers or their rights? Ted Cruz. I'm running to replace him in the U.S. Senate, and I need all the help I can get. Will you chip in to help me fire Ted Cruz and be a voice for workers in the Senate?
