Happy Labor Day!

Each year, we reserve the first Monday in September to honor and celebrate the American labor movement’s fight for fair labor practices.

But today, as thousands of brave Californians return to the picket line, we’re reminded that the battle for workers’ rights is far from over.

This year, California has seen at least 53 labor strikes involving 275,000+ participants – and that doesn’t include the strikes that started in 2022.

This is not some fluke, John. A decade of unaccountability from megacorporations has led to disparities in employees’ pay and abuse of employees’ rights nationwide.

From the writers of the WGA to the artists of SAG-AFTRA to the hospitality workers of UNITE HERE Local 11 and beyond – Californians are saying “ENOUGH” and demanding the dignity, the respect, the safety, and the compensation they deserve.

CADEM proudly stands with workers across our state as they fight to remind corporations and studios of the truth: California is a union state.

That’s why we’re working hard to elect California Democrats who will fight for workers, their families, and the middle class. The future of the American labor movement starts here with us.
