Did you know that Beyoncé and Michael Keaton were born on Labor Day? That the first Labor Day celebrated in the U.S. was in New York City in 1882 – 12 years before it became a federal holiday and 31 years before there was a U.S. Department of Labor?

Labor Day celebrates those who fought for the end of mandatory 12-hour days, seven-day work weeks, and child labor – all things that were common in the late 1800s. We also recognize and honor those who are fighting today for safe and equitable working conditions. 

Chrissy is one of those leaders. 

She’s one of the reasons those in the military and across the federal government have paid parental leave and is working hard to get the same for everyone else. When she learned that truck drivers often don’t have access to convenient bathrooms during long trips (crazy, right?), she wrote a bill to change that.  

It’s a great start, but there’s so much more to be done. Chrissy is grateful you’ve stood by her side as she’s fought for worker’s rights – and she hopes you’ll continue to do so.
