Each Labor Day, we celebrate the workers whose dedication to organizing built a strong labor movement that secured the rights and protections we enjoy today. Thanks to their work, organized labor is stronger than ever.

While we celebrate and honor the labor movement, we also stand in solidarity with educators on strike in southwest Washington who are on strike for smaller classrooms, fair pay, and more resources for students.

Whether you’re a first responder, teacher, nurse, firefighter, grocery store worker, letter carrier or one of the many others who serve our communities day in and day out — you are essential to keeping our state moving forward. Thank you.

Our Senate Democrats will always be committed to the values of the labor movement, and we know that the hard-fought victories of unions help all workers. We will continue to advocate for measures that help our middle class thrive and make Washington state the leader in equity and fairness.
In solidarity,

Katy, Bayley, and Sara
