Laws are failing animals. But we won’t.

Hi,

Did you know that slamming piglets headfirst onto concrete floors is considered a legal form of “euthanasia?” That it’s perfectly legal for factory farmers to cut off baby animals’ tails without pain relief—while veterinarians refuse to perform the very same practice on dogs?

The truth is, laws haven’t been written to protect animals. Too many of them have been written to protect animal abusers.

Horrific abuses that would otherwise be illegal aren’t just legal in our farming system. They’re routine. It’s standard practice to slice off a day-old chick’s sensitive beak, to “disbud” a calf’s developing horns by searing them off with a hot iron, and to castrate a newborn piglet without any painkillers.

Just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s right.

Thankfully, changemakers all over the world (like you!) are speaking up for the animals who can’t. Together, we’re fighting this shameful cruelty on all fronts—from grassroots activism to policy reform to holding companies accountable.

But we can’t do it without your help.

From now through World Farm Animals Day, your gift will be matched. Will you fuel this fight to end systemic animal abuse?

Our incredible monthly giving community, The Heart Beat, is the lifeblood of this work—providing the long-term support needed to transition away from animal cruelty in our food system. Right now, when you join with a monthly gift, two generous donors will match your contributions for the first three months. From now through World Farm Animals Day on October 2, every one of your dollars will go as far as possible to end the worst suffering on factory farms today.

Even when the law fails animals, our movement won’t. We’ll be here, fighting for them—because it’s only right.
