It’s Labor Day. A day to acknowledge the work of generations of Americans who organized for fairer working conditions.
This Labor Day, Their Future PAC also wants to take a moment to acknowledge how far we still need to go to create a fair and just working environment for future generations.
Fair pay, decent hours, health benefits, a retirement plan, child labor protections… these things sound rudimentary, but countless hard-working Americans still can’t count on these basics. We have seen child labor protections rolled back in at least 14 states, just in the past two years. As a pediatrician and mom, this is horrifying. If we don’t replace our leaders, I fear what will happen in the coming years.
We must demand better.
