Happy Labor Day, team!

As you enjoy this well-deserved long weekend, we hope you'll remember that Labor Day is about more than enjoying the unofficial end to summer or an extra day off for some workers.

It's also about honoring the labor movement that brought us safer working conditions, fair pay, a 40-hour workweek, child labor laws, vital social safety nets like Social Security and Medicare, weekends and holidays off, and so much more. Before the labor movement, workers across the country were working for little pay in unsafe and unsanitary workplaces. But thanks to the efforts of American laborers, many of us are able to enjoy the benefits of their hard work. But team, the fight to protect and expand workers' rights is far from over.

Today – whether you're working or enjoying the day off – we hope you'll join us in taking a moment to remember why we celebrate Labor Day and why we must continue to fight to protect workers' rights in Ohio and across our country.
