Dear John,
This week, we shared details of our national conference in
October with the national media, highlighted by a prominent article in
the National Post, now our official Antisemitism:
Face It, Fight It Media Partner. We are
recruiting for one of our flagship mission programs, Israel Young
Leaders Program, where we give Canadian student leaders an opportunity
to learn firsthand about Israel and life in the Middle
East.
Read on to learn more about both.
The CIJA Team
This week, Antisemitism: Face It, Fight
It
made its media debut with a feature
story profiling the conference in the
National Post, which also ran
nationwide online on more than 70 newspapers websites, including the
Montreal Gazette,
Calgary Herald, and the
Ottawa
Citizen.
Explaining the impetus for the conference, CIJA’s Shimon
Koffler Fogel said: “Our experience … as a society is that there has
been exponential growth in intolerance, in people feeling entitled to
express the most vitriolic ideas, or to disseminate them. And we feel
that, by way of response, we have to come together as a community … to
express that sense of unity and demonstrate that solidarity to
confront and push back against the hate that is polarizing our
society.”

CIJA, JFC-UIA, and Canada's
Jewish Federations are pleased to announce that the National
Post has signed on to be the official media partner of
Antisemitism: Face It, Fight It. Canada’s leading national
newspaper, the Post was founded 25 years ago as unabashedly
pro-Israel. Its partnership with the conference reflects its longtime
friendship with the Jewish community and its commitment to combating
hate and promoting inclusivity, highlighting the value of this
groundbreaking conference as a timely and effective means to join forces in raising
awareness about antisemitism and how to face it and fight
it.
