Friend,

• FIRST, Trump’s favorite education secretary, Betsy DeVos, advanced a rule that made it nearly impossible for student borrowers who were scammed by shady colleges to cancel their loans and receive full restitution.

• THEN, the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives passed a resolution overturning DeVos’ rule gutting student borrower protections.

• NOW, the Senate faces a choice: either join the House in ensuring justice for defrauded student borrowers or rubberstamp Trump and DeVos’ scheme to protect the profits of crooked diploma mills.

Sign our petition calling on the Senate to do the right thing by standing with students and voting to overturn Betsy DeVos’ borrower defense rules.

This should be an easy decision for every senator. It should be as simple as sitting down and saying to yourself, “Yes, I’ll stand with students who’ve been handed a raw deal. And no, I won’t side with Betsy DeVos, the most unpopular person in the Trump administration.”

But we have a feeling some senators aren’t inclined to do the right thing because they’ve taken tons of money from the for-profit college industry and even from Betsy DeVos’ family! So we need to apply some public pressure. Will you add your name to our petition?
