Marie Newman for Congress -

John,

I’ve got to be honest with you, some of us thought Marie set the bar a little too high for tonight’s grassroots goal.

But this team is proving us wrong and coming through right when we need it most. We’re already halfway to our goal of reaching 500 grassroots donations by tonight.

This is the last FEC deadline of our campaign -- our last chance to close the gap with Dan Lipinski and his big-money, corporate-interest backers. Will you chip in before midnight to help reach our grassroots goal?

It’s sometimes hard to keep track of all the ways Dan Lipinski has an advantage in this election. Everyone knows his name, because it’s been on the ballot longer than I’ve been alive.

Federal lobbyists and corporate interests have lined up to cut him big checks to help him hang on to power. He can count on machine politics to help scare people out of supporting his opponent. In fact, some forces of the establishment in D.C. even threatened people out of helping us when we were launching this campaign.

But despite all of that, this team is on the verge of eliminating one of Lipinski’s biggest advantages: fundraising. And we’re doing it the right way -- people chipping in what they can, when they can. Our average donation is just $41.

So before we close the books on our very last FEC deadline of this campaign tonight, will you chip in and level the playing field with the other side?

Thank you -- 20 days left. Here. We. Go.
