This Labor Day, we remember the movements that came before us and the many battles, frequently turning violent, that our past leaders fought so hard to attain: fundamental rights like an 8-hour work day and a 5-day work week among other protections.
Since the beginning of the labor movement, we have fought tooth and nail every step of the way to gain even the most basic safety measures and living wages that many have fought and died for. Yet, we keep fighting these same battles. Labor unions today make up 11.3% of the total workforce. As the only party that puts actions behind our rhetoric when it comes to labor and workers' rights, we celebrate working people in our state, in our country, and in our world.
? ? ? ?We will be out at various events this Labor Day gathering signatures to put a true workers' party on the ballot.
