GET THE FACTS: Migrant Children

One of the largest humanitarian crises facing our nation is children coming across our Southern Border. Many of these children come unaccompanied by an adult and are often exploited. In August 2023, Border Patrol agents encountered more than 10,500 unaccompanied minors crossing into the United States. When I questioned Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra about these children in a recent committee hearing, he was ill equipped to answer basic questions about what happens to these children once they are in HHS custody. It's time for us to act now to ensure no more children are put in harm's way. We must protect kids.

You can watch my full questioning of Secretary Becerra below:

Around the District

Keith from my District Office presented Duet: Partners in Health and Aging with a Congressional Recognition for their work in assisting the senior community. Duet supports homebound adults, family caregivers, and offers other family support services.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office after she received a job offer to teach in another country, but was unable to obtain her documents from the State Department. These documents were needed to qualify for a work visa, so our office contacted the State Department regarding her urgent travel needs and was able to assist the constituent in receiving the required documents on time.

Mobile Office Hours
