Jim Jordan recently announced that the House Judiciary Committee will be launching a bogus, hyper-partisan investigation into the Georgia state criminal proceedings against Donald Trump. Jordan’s singular point of focus? Fulton County DA Fani Willis, who made the decision to prosecute Trump and 18 co-defendants after an exhaustive 2-year inquiry into their efforts to subvert the 2020 election results in Georgia.

While Jordan’s fact-free screeds about Hunter Biden, Trump’s criminal indictments (91 charges and counting!), and “leftist woke culture” are generally unhinged, he reserves a special venom for Ms. Willis and the judge overseeing Trump’s Georgia case, Judge Tanya Chutkan. Each of these individuals share two main attributes that separate them from every other target of Jim Jordan’s ire: they are both confident, intelligent Black women standing up to white supremacists like Trump and Jordan.

Jim Jordan is abusing his position as a Member of Congress and as Chair of one of the most important committees in the House. He is using his power and influence as a federal official to openly interfere with a state judicial criminal proceeding. Jim Jordan could, and should, be facing a criminal indictment of his own for his efforts to obstruct justice for Trump.

But until Jordan is officially indicted, we have to focus on what we can do right now—work to defeat him in this election.
