Today's electorate is the most diverse in history, friend.
Immigrants, young people, LGBTQ+ Americans, people of color, working families — we're all helping to make our communities stronger and more vibrant than ever before.
It's time we elected a Congress that looks like us, and one that will fight for us too. [[link removed]]
Sepi is a trailblazer. She was the first woman of color elected to the West Hollywood City Council, the first female Iranian mayor in California, and the first openly LGBTQ+ Iranian woman to hold public office in the world.
But more than that, she's lived the same struggles facing many Americans today.
Sepi was undocumented until age 16. She worked her way through college and law school, and is still paying off her student debt. At every step of the way, she's been told that people like her didn't belong — in high school when she came out, at a coffee shop when she was holding her girlfriends hand, on the City Council and in the Mayor's office.
But the truth is, friend, Congress is exactly where someone like Sepi belongs. We need members in Congress who have an intersectional lens and lived experience creating policies that benefit all of us rather than the same politicians who have been part of a dysfunctional establishment, creating policies that continue to benefit the privileged, the top 1 percent, and special interest groups while leaving the rest of us breadcrumbs.
Sepi is a tireless fighter for civil rights, economic opportunity, and a brighter future for every Californian. She's exactly the kind of representative we need in Congress; one who has lived like us, listens to us, and will fight for us.
If you agree, please chip in a few dollars to help Sepi get there. [[link removed]]
