Hi John,

When I was in the Navy—whether at the Naval Academy, on the ground in Iraq, or at sea—I lived by a simple idea: Ship, shipmate, self. It's something I've carried forward as a husband, father of three, son, community member, voting rights lawyer, union organizer, and member of Congress devoted to the public.

I'm from a small town in Western PA, and it's clear to me that this lesson isn't unique to the military. You can see service before self everywhere – at local community centers, small businesses, schools, and workplaces. It's a commitment to help your neighbors, show up for your family and coworkers, and get up every day ready to do hard work.

I'm running for reelection because right-wing politicians are taking this country toward a motto of power at any cost, of service for self, and I won't sit back and let them win . Republicans are siding with corporate jagoffs and leaving workers to fend for themselves.

The GOP (drunk on the myth of trickle-down economics) is rewarding big business with looser regulations and tax breaks at the expense of the safety and prosperity of American families. And they're stepping over our democracy by aiding and abetting Donald Trump and right-wing extremists.

I believe that serving the Common Good comes first. That's why I'm running a campaign to defend the union way of life, reproductive rights, hard-earned benefits for workers, and our democracy.

I won the election in 2022 by single digits, and this election is going to be tight. I’m going to need a strong grassroots team behind me every step of the way, so can I count on you to support my campaign for service before self today? [[link removed]]
