Dear John,
There was a time, not so long ago, when political campaigns could reach most voters through a relatively short list of media outlets.
TV commercials were tops. Facebook was the only social media platform that really mattered. Most everything else was pretty much small potatoes.
Those days are over.
Today’s media environment is so fractured that a campaign that relies only on TV and Facebook would completely miss an enormous swath of the electorate — especially young people. And if we don’t reach those voters in 2024, we will be handing the presidency to Donald Trump.
That’s why the team here at Inequality Media Civic Action has been running full-throttle over the past few months to boost our following on every social media platform there is. We’ve made tremendous progress (more on that below), but we need to double down, starting right now, on this strategy and make sure we can keep Trump out of the White House.
Please make a donation to help Inequality Media Civic Action reach voters across every social media platform and keep Donald Trump out of the White House.
Now I’ll be honest. Personally, I don’t really know much about all these newfangled technologies.
But the team at Inequality Media Civic Action includes some of the best digital strategists and social media-savvy people I’ve ever worked with. What they can do with just a few seconds of video content blows me away.
Thanks to their brilliance, I was recently described as a “Gen Z icon” by TikTok mega-influencer Victoria Hammett! And a recent survey found that we now have the biggest following across Instagram and TikTok of any progressive media project.
Check it out:
In addition, we’re also growing on Snapchat, Substack, YouTube, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Reddit, Twitter, Threads, Bluesky ... What, you haven’t heard of Bluesky? I hadn’t either. But we’re now there, too, debunking Trump’s lies and building support for progressive policies.
This is the key to reaching the young voters we need to stop Trump in 2024.
Now listen, to do all this, we don’t need tens of millions of dollars, because we’re not doing this with some massive ad buy. We’re doing it with catchy, instantly viral content that spreads organically from one person to the next. However, we do need some money to pay production costs, salaries, and other basic expenses — and that’s why we need your help.
Please chip in whatever you can afford today to keep Inequality Media Civic Action growing across social media and stop Donald Trump.
Thanks for joining with us in the fight for democracy,
Robert Reich
