Team, I just want to thank you for your help last month, and through our final push.

Donors like you power this campaign. I’m really grateful to have you here. Really.

A ton of people helped us out, and I’m really grateful for that.

If you’ve got a minute, I wanted to share something with you (this isn’t a fundraising email — I promise).

I was an infantryman in Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines. We fought in Anbar, Iraq. They called us “Lucky Lima” because we didn’t have a single casualty in the first two months of our deployment.

Our luck didn’t hold though. By the time our deployment was over we had more casualties than any unit in the Iraq War.

The guys in my unit grew up a lot like me. Some were from working class families, some were first or second generation, some were from reservations. Most were dirt poor. All Americans.

I joined the Marines to serve my country, but I’m running for Senate for the guys I served with.

There aren’t enough politicians who work for the veterans, the working moms and dads, or the kids sleeping on the floor like I did.

They’ve been let down too many times, and I’m running to change that.

Since we launched, thousands of people have joined us. More than a hundred thousand people have chipped in. It’s stunning, really, and it means a lot to me.

And if you’ve read this far, I’d like to know a little bit about why you’re here.

Could you take this official issue survey so I can understand what’s important to you, and what you hope to see us get done in Washington? It’ll help me campaign, and it will help me be a better Senator.

TAKE THE SURVEY:[link removed]

I’ve still got a tough relationship with the word luck. But I know I’m lucky that you have my back.

So thanks again, team.

Ruben
