Indivisibles,

We did it! With your help, we effectively got the word out about the
Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and its very real benefits. That is why we
started our whole [ [link removed] ]Powering Progress campaign in the first place -- so
more people could understand how this piece of historic legislation
benefits our communities across race and place. Powering Progress pushes
back on the divide-and-conquer politics that are undermining the IRA’s
success by showing how an active and inclusive government can work for
everyone.

As you know, the Inflation Reduction Act is the biggest piece of climate
legislation we have ever seen in America. From slashing carbon emissions
and putting money back into our pockets, to lowering prescription drug
prices for seniors -- the benefits of the IRA are too good for us to not
shout its impact from the (metaphorical) rooftops. Or from your literal
rooftop if you’re taking advantage of the solar panel rebates. 😂

And last month, we did just that as we celebrated the one-year
anniversary!

[2]Indivisibles celebrating the IRA

Since launching our Powering Progress campaign in July, dedicated
Indivisibles like you have already hosted more than 60 events throughout
the country, from tabling at local fairs to hosting events with members of
Congress. We wrote 244 letters to the editor (LTEs) to our local papers --
here’s a quick sample of published letters from California and Minnesota.
And we mobilized online with our digital day of action, sharing content to
help amplify the incredible impact of the IRA and disrupt lies about clean
energy.

Together, we helped tell a united, hopeful story about how our government
has and can play an active role in improving all our lives -- no
exceptions.

And we’re just getting started celebrating -- with more benefits rolling
out every week! Just a few days ago, [ [link removed] ]Medicare announced the first-ever
drugs that will have negotiated prices. This historic announcement comes
after decades of fighting to make medicines affordable for patients.

We know that [ [link removed] ]Big Pharma isn’t happy, and we know their playbook. They
will spread lies about these cost-saving measures to help them put profits
over people. Combating lies and misinformation isn’t new to us. We have
our own playbook that is just as effective as theirs: combating
misinformation and disinformation with the Truth Brigade.

Help us continue to throw a meaningful wrench into the
democracy-destroying lie machine spreading disinformation, and [ [link removed] ]attend
our Truth Brigade Big Truths Call on Wednesday, September 13, at 6:30pm
Eastern Time / 3:30pm Pacific Time. Bad actors don't want us to support
the IRA provisions that cap insulin costs and allow Medicare to negotiate
lower drug prices. We can disrupt that disinfo with knowledge! Join
disinfo experts and Steve Knievel from Public Citizen to better understand
the ways pharmaceutical companies spread false or misleading information
that undermines folks' well-being -- and take action to counter the lies,
together.

Thank you to all the Indivisibles who came together to celebrate the
Inflation Reduction Act. With climate change looming over our heads and
healthcare costs out of control, it is our responsibility to fight for the
future of the planet and our health -- and we will continue to do just
that. As always, there is no one we would rather be in this fight with
than you.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
