*CPAC Condemns Trump Arrest as Castro-esque*
*President Donald Trump Indicted and Arrested in Georgia*
CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp released a statement on the occasion of President Donald Trump's arrest in Fulton County, Georgia following the former president's fourth indictment. Schlapp likens the events to the Marxist moves of dictators such as Fidel Castro, Stalin, and Mao, the former of which, held Schlapp's very own father-in-law as a political prisoner in Cuba for six years. He goes on to defiantly state, " But if you do not stop, we will rise up and we will re-elect President Donald J. Trump – and this time -- we will fully understand the nature of your corruption and the names of those who bankroll it."

*Debates Over Tax Cuts with Special Interest Benefits Continue in NC*
CPAC has been watching the North Carolina legislative session play out over the last several weeks and months, and while many positive, conservative pieces of legislation have emerged, one piece in particular continues to raise eyebrows. The legislation at hand is a bill that cuts taxes only to expand gambling allowances in the state to the benefit of special interest groups. CPAC has already appealed to North Carolina state representatives to reconsider this bill and instead give the hard-working people of North Carolina clean tax cuts. CPAC once again issued a letter this week citing articles from conservative publications and authors demonstrating the importance of clean tax cuts and the detriment of bills like this to the Republican Party's cause and hopes for victory in future elections.

*Andrew Langer Takes the Reins on CPAC Foundation's Center for Regulatory Freedom*
CPAC is thrilled to welcome Andrew Langer as the new Director of CPAC's Center for Regulatory Freedom. Mercedes Schlapp had Langer on America Uncanceled this week to discuss his vision for the center's mission to challenge overreaching federal regulations. Langer has already mobilized the Center for Regulatory Freedom to orchestrate a grassroots campaign against a Biden administration regulation on offshore oil drilling that would further hinder the domestic energy industry and once again hike gas prices. Hear Langer's full vision and more on this episode of America Uncanceled.

*Republicans Turn on TX Attorney General, Seek to Subvert the Will of the People*
The Texas legislature is moving toward the impeachment of Texas Attorney General and strong ally of CPAC Ken Paxton. CPAC released a statement supporting AG Paxton and a vote in the legislature that would dismiss the impeachment movings. The statement calls the trials an attempt "to undo an election where the people of Texas made their voices heard and chose to keep Ken Paxton as their Attorney General."
