Africa & Europe

Praise God for a summit IJM Ghana held in August with police partners to build capacity on combating human trafficking and supporting victims in a trauma-informed manner. The Assistant Commissioner of Police called on members of the public to complement the efforts of security agencies in addressing the crime. Pray for continued multi-disciplinary cooperation as IJM and partners in Ghana work together to bring protection to children who have been exploited for labor.
Latin America

Praise God for the opportunity to support and collaborate with the Victims’ Institute and justice sector in Guatemala in the development and launch of the Policy for Dignifying Reparation for Victims of Crime. This policy, valid for 10 years, creates the process by which survivors can receive different types of reparations in compensation for the effects of violent crime committed against them. Survivors’ perspectives and experiences were considered in the development of the policy that will be reviewed at the upcoming Congress.
South Asia

Please pray for some roadblocks we are facing as we seek to expand our work. Ask for God’s wisdom and discernment as our team navigates tricky bureaucracy to help us register in new places, so we can support local authorities in protecting children and women from violence.
Asia Pacific

Praise God for the appointment of IJM Cambodia’s new country director, Sa Em Chum! As we enter IJM’s 20th year in Cambodia, we are grateful to have a strong Cambodian leader with a rich set of skills and experiences, ready to lead our truly amazing Cambodia team forward in pursuing protection from forced labor slavery crimes. We pray for God’s blessing of protection and peace for Sa Em and his family!
