This week, Gov. Holcomb focused on education and public safety.
Friend,
Gov. Holcomb’s Next Level Agenda received two BIG wins this week. Here’s what happened:
WIN #1: Imagination Library Expansion
Gov. Holcomb kicked off the statewide expansion of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which gifts free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children 0-5 years old on a monthly basis, regardless of family income or zip code.
Part of Gov. Holcomb’s 2023 Next Level Agenda included this expansion, which provides $6 million for the program over the next two years.
“I learned from a very young age that reading is the key to further education and opportunity ahead, long-term. The very ability to read can transport children and adults alike to places they have never been and open doors they never knew existed. By making Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library available in every zip code, we are giving Hoosier children yet another personalized tool close to home they’ll need for literary success.” — Gov. Holcomb

Part of Gov. Holcomb’s 2023 Next Level Agenda included providing necessary resources to our firefighters.
➡️ $7.7 million to construct new training facilities
➡️ $10 million for turnout gear and other personal protective equipment
“No firefighter should travel more than 30 miles to access a state training site. Indiana is doing more to help those who put their lives on the line for Hoosiers.” — Gov. Holcomb
