Hi friend,

Warehouses are popping up across Pennsylvania. In too many cases, they are creating truck traffic in communities that can’t handle it, adding to air pollution, and polluting our waterways.

Frankly, warehouses are here to stay unless our shopping habits change. But they should be properly sized, sited, and planned – not sprawling across the state with no thought to the impacts on traffic, loss of farmland, overburdened communities that already have poor air quality, and potential for flooding.

Our state and local officials need to do better. If we can make enough noise we can help ensure that warehouses don’t get built where they cause serious harm to local communities like yours.

Sign this petition urging our elected officials to prioritize sustainable planning and smart development for warehouses that doesn’t harm our communities: [link removed]

With our access to major ports, airports, and highways, Pennsylvania is a top target for new warehouses. But we’re seeing warehouses proposed next to protected open spaces, adjacent to homes and daycare centers, and in communities that already suffer dangerous levels of air pollution.

Warehouse construction replaces acres of natural land cover with hard surfaces, which contributes to more flooding, more runoff, and more water pollution. The effects ripple out, with towns and taxpayers left to pay to address these issues.

Moreover, the uptick in emissions from the surge in truck traffic should not be underestimated. Air quality in our communities is at stake, particularly for vulnerable populations like children and the elderly who face an increased risk of asthma and respiratory issues from truck emissions.

This is not a future we can afford to accept. Add your name – tell your elected officials that you want them to prioritize smart, sustainable development practices that don't harm our communities: [link removed]

Once you’ve signed, help us maximize our impact! Share this petition with your friends, family, and colleagues.

Thanks for all you do,
