Our biggest lobby event of the year just happened in Sacramento on Wednesday, and I’m here to tell you all about it.
California Environmental Voters Education Fund runs a coalition called Green California, consisting of 140 member organizations that together serve as a key thought partner for passing impactful environmental, health, and justice legislation in California.
Every year, the coalition comes together in Sacramento for Green California Advocacy Day, and this year’s was a massive success! Our Green California representatives, coming from up and down the state, met with over 50 legislators and staff to push for 12 environmental bills. It was so exciting to see so many passionate advocates all in one place, pushing for the same shared goal.
The dozen bills we advocated for addressed issues like fair water rights, corporate accountability, clean transportation programs, microplastic prevention, food safety, and more.
All of these bills align with Green California’s common environmental, health, and justice agenda. And with the sweltering heat and the Sacramento air thick with smoke, it did not take much convincing that these issues need to be a priority for our state’s decision makers.
Check out our insider recap of how our Green California Advocacy Day went, and see some awesome photos from the event!
Thank you for being a part of this growing movement for a healthy, just, and green future. |
