The United States is set to become majority Black and Brown by 2045. Will you be ready to leverage your power?

The work to fight for a fair and just democracy includes fighting for the safety of Black and Brown migrants. This year, the new ‘public charge’ rule enforced by the current presidential administration could determine what the electorate and what the demographics of America will be in the future. At Advancement Project National Office, we, along with our partners, UndocuBlack and Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI) are doing the work this month to ensure Black and Brown migrants have a voice in this democracy.

We reject the idea that immigrants cannot call America home. We refuse to let the politics of fear and divisiveness prevail. Advancement Project National Office stands with our grassroots partners and national allies as a united front against any policies rooted in fear, racial and religious bigotry, xenophobia, and hate.

The newest visa sanctions against Eritrea, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Ghana are only one part of the current administration’s heightened campaign to criminalize Black migrants—from the policing and caging of Black migrants at the border to the recent expansion of the Muslim Ban.

You can help stop this. We can fight this, together.

How?

1. Call your congressional representative. Tell Congress, the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. State Department to cancel visa sanctions currently in effect.

2. Post and tweet using hashtags like #NoMuslimBan and #NoBanAct. Tell your friends and family.

3. Reach out to organizations doing the work, such as UndocuBlack and BAJI. Volunteer in your free time.

4. Vote! Get folks elected who demonstrate a heart and mind for the well-being of ALL people.

5. Donate. Going up against viciously racist tactics and egregiously bigoted laws are not easy.

If you’re committed to the continued fight to ensure a just democracy in the next 25 years to come, do your part.

We are history in the making. We are the past, present, and future of America.
