Here are some recent updates.

• An "election integrity" group and voters appealed a federal court dismissal of a lawsuit  — which sought to overturn California laws permitting universal mail-in voting, online voter registration, community ballot collection and more — to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.  

• The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals declined to rehear a case challenging Kentucky's process that arbitrarily dictates which individuals with a previous felony conviction will regain the right to vote. Previously, the court affirmed a decision that dismissed the lawsuit.

• Nonprofit civil rights organization CASA and York County, Pennsylvania reached an agreement for the county to provide Spanish-language voting materials and assistance in elections through 2028. Previously, York County only provided election materials in English.

• The U.S. Department of Justice has investigated over 2,000 reports of threats and harassment against election workers since 2021. More than a dozen people have been charged with threatening election workers.

• Alabama state Rep. David Cole (R) resigned from the Legislature after being arrested and charged with voter fraud.
