John,
As we head into Labor Day weekend, let’s lift up working mothers.
Moms make just 62 cents for every dollar dads make. We often face bias, career interruptions and lower pay after having a child. Mothers of color―who are disproportionately low-wage workers―face additional disparities and struggles in providing for their families.
To center moms in policy-making, I founded the Mamas’ Caucus in Congress in partnership with the grassroots group Mothering Justice.
Mothering Justice pushes for policies that working mamas need, such as paid leave, affordable and quality childcare, reproductive justice and Black maternal health, and equal pay.
Please donate today to support Mothering Justice’s advocacy for working mothers.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately, with 100% going directly to Mothering Justice
In addition to advocating for and implementing urgently-needed policies, Mothering Justice runs fellowships across the country to empower parents and caretakers with the tools needed to engage in the political process in their communities.
Together, we can make sure that working-class mothers have a seat at the table where policies are made. Please chip in today to support Mothering Justice.
In solidarity,
Rashida
