๐บ๐ธ It's almost Labor Weekend, John!
While it might mark the end of summer for some โ there's no denying #HotLaborSummer is still on and will become #HotLaborFall very soon.
This Labor Day feels like one of the first in decades where organized labor is top of mind for everyone in the country.
Whether it's:
- Historic union drives at Amazon and Starbucks,
- Over 340,000 UPS teamsters winning a historic contract that raises wages across the board,
- American Airline pilots ratifying a contract that guarantees them more than $9 billion (with a B!) in increased wages and benefits,
- UAW and airline attendants voting overwhelmingly to authorize a strike as they bargain with powerful industries,
- Writers and actors in film and TV on historic simultaneous strikes to win a living wage, or
- The National Labor Relations Board issuing a new guideline that says any company that union busts during an election will be forced to automatically recognize their union
โฆ the labor movement is on the rise, and I stand in solidarity with all workers who are demanding to be treated with dignity and paid fair wages.
It's why I'm not taking a single cent from corporate PACs โ and I'm the only candidate in PA-01 who's made that commitment.
We need pro-union, pro-worker leaders in Congress who arenโt afraid to stand up for workers' rights. Whether in Congress or at the picket line, I will always fight for the workersโ right to form a union and collectively bargain in their workplace. โ
Have a great Labor Day Weekend. Solidarity forever,
Ashley Ehasz ๐
P.S. It might go without saying, but not taking any money from corporate PACs means I'm relying on grassroots donors like you to fuel this campaign. If you can, please pitch in whatever you can โ this is a campaign of, by, and for workers!
