John–I know you’ve received a lot of emails in the past few days, as we approached our end-of-month deadline. (If you’ve already donated, thank you immensely! If you missed your chance, you can help us start September off on the right foot and chip in $5 now.)
It’s not lost on me that these emails can get a little annoying and tedious—believe me when I say how grateful I am for your understanding. If I had it my way, dark money and corporate PACs wouldn’t be allowed to shell out fortunes trying to influence our elections, and grassroots campaigns like ours wouldn’t be forced to compete with billionaires who try to sway elections in their favor. The truth is, while Mike Lawler is out here amassing a war chest of shady, far-right PAC and Big Oil money, I’m here reaching out to you to support our campaign through these—admittedly somewhat annoying—emails. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Every time you donate—whether it’s $1 or $100—it gives power to our movement and shows Big Oil, corporate PACs, and all of their sycophants that we don’t need a penny from them. Thousands of grassroots supporters stepped up to the plate to donate what they could, and as a result, we crushed our $70,000 end-of-month goal. So thank you, John.
