John –
I had a huge day at the fair yesterday, but before I tell you about it, I want to quickly talk with you about why the fair is so darn cool.
Minnesota is a whole lot more than just the Twin Cities and the suburbs. Every year I make dozens of trips to see DFLers in every corner of the state, in addition to the trips I make to support the local governments during my day job.
The Fair is a chance for Minnesotans whose lives aren’t centered in a rural community to see all the state has to offer. It’s a celebration of everything that is Minnesotan.
It’s why I love crop art, and why I was excited to take part in the butter carving competition at the Ag-Olympics yesterday. And I didn’t just take part, I won – check it out:
So, if you haven’t yet, I urge you to join me in celebrating the greatest state in the union by coming out to the fair in these final four days. You’ll likely see me running around.
Before I go, I want to remind you to get your guess in for the Great Minnesota Count Together. Click here now to take your best guess at how many beans I used in this year’s crop art entry!
Thank you!
Julie
